K-9 NUMERACY ASSESSMENTS

Overview

Our district’s K–9 Numeracy Assessments were co-developed with teachers to support meaningful, classroom-embedded assessment aligned with the BC Curriculum. Together, the Early Numeracy Profile (K–2) and the Numeracy Assessment Toolkit (Grades 3–9) provide educators with practical tools to gather rich evidence of student thinking across content knowledge and curricular competencies. These are not one-time tests, but flexible, low-floor, high-ceiling assessments designed to be used throughout the year. Both tools aim to make student learning visible, inform instructional next steps, and foster deep, confident, and competent mathematical thinkers.
